Today we went to Ridgeway Early Learning Center in Memphis, Tennessee. We gave away books to kids who need books.
When we got there we saw some grownups and then we went inside and I saw some kids in the hallway who were ready go into a classroom were Kelly was going to read.
First we went into a different classroom were we talked about our trip and Kelly read the book “My Many Colored Days” by Dr. Seuss. After that we went into a different classroom and Kelly read the book again.
When we were done we went out and talked to the teachers and showed them our RV and then the kids came and we handed out books. There were two books called, “The Grouchy Ladybug” by Eric Carle and “My Many Colored Days” by Dr. Seuss and the kids will receive four more books.
There were six classrooms, which is 180 kids. It took us 35 minutes to hand the books out. First we gave them the big book and then the little one so that they could stack them on top of each other without dropping them. After that the grownups talked for 30 minutes and then we were done.
The day was awesome because we got to see a lot of happy faces. It was fun and when I handed out the books I was thinking about when I was little and read the same books.
I want to send a message to all the kids that we meet today: I hope you had a lot of fun and I hope that we can hear from you soon!
